Where we operate

Education coverage.

Regional delivery, backed by national mobilisation. Our strongest directly managed coverage is across the Midlands, North West and Yorkshire. In London, the South and Wales we operate a deliberately controlled footprint, supported by remote technology and project-specific mobilisation. For longer-term contracts, frameworks and multi-site programmes, AOG recruits and deploys locally, giving clients a scalable UK-wide service without overstating a permanent local headcount.

Indicative mobilisation capacity. Final resourcing is agreed against scope, geography and contract duration. Technology-led security can be deployed nationally.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Are your staff DBS checked for work in schools and colleges?

AOG applies the appropriate vetting and safeguarding controls for each education assignment. Where the role requires a DBS check, the relevant level is verified before deployment. We can also work to a school's or trust's contractor-access, induction and safeguarding procedures and provide evidence for the contract file.

How do you keep disruption to a minimum around teaching?

We plan routine work around occupied hours and use evenings, weekends and school holidays for disruptive or intensive activities wherever possible. Cleaning, grounds, maintenance and project works are programmed against the academic calendar so the site can remain safe and operational.

Can you manage services across a multi-academy trust or campus?

Yes. AOG can coordinate multiple services and sites through one account structure with common reporting, escalation and audit standards. This gives central estates teams visibility across the portfolio while allowing each school or campus to retain its site-specific schedule.

Do you provide fire-safety and statutory-compliance support?

Yes, within the services AOG and DefendX are contracted and competent to provide. This can include fire doors, passive fire protection, compartmentation and associated remedial works, alongside planned-maintenance activities delivered by approved competent providers where required.

Can you deliver cleaning during school holidays and before reopening?

Yes. Holiday periods are ideal for deep cleaning, high-level work, floor care, decorating and project cleans. We can programme work backwards from the reopening date and release completed areas in phases where required.

How do you control contractors and operatives on an occupied school site?

We work to the school's access, induction, safeguarding and sign-in requirements. Operatives receive site-specific instructions, and work areas, timings and escalation contacts are agreed before mobilisation.

Can you cover emergency or short-notice absence?

Subject to location, vetting and the role required, we can provide relief and short-notice resource. For critical contracts we recommend agreeing contingency arrangements at mobilisation rather than relying solely on ad-hoc cover.

Can you support a trust with several schools in different regions?

Yes. Our directly managed strength is concentrated in the Midlands, North West and Yorkshire, with controlled coverage in London, the South and Wales. For longer-term multi-site contracts we can recruit locally and build a dedicated regional resource plan.
