Ernest Jones and H Samuel: decorating and cleaning for Signet

The challenge

A jewellery store sells on presentation, so every finish is on show the moment a customer walks in. Signet's UK brands needed two different things done to the same standard across a dispersed, high-value retail estate: decorating that would look right under retail lighting whether the store was in Stoke or Cornwall, and a builders and sparkle clean precise enough not to mark a single new surface, repeated on schedule across a 48-store rollout. Both jobs meant working around valuable stock and fittings, and both had to hold the same standard no matter how far apart the sites were.

Decorating: H Samuel, Stoke to Cornwall

H Samuel appointed AOG to decorate three stores spread the length of the country. We treated the three as one programme with one standard rather than three unrelated jobs: proper preparation before any finish went on, the same specification on cut-in lines, joinery and coverage at every site, so a store in Cornwall was finished to the same standard as a store in Stoke.

Cleaning: Ernest Jones, a 48-store rollout

As Barnwood Shopfitting refitted Ernest Jones stores for Signet, AOG delivered the final builders and sparkle clean across roughly forty-eight stores. Vetted operatives worked top down with soft cloths and non-abrasive methods on cabinets, glazing and polished surfaces, coordinated with the Barnwood site teams so each clean followed the shopfitting exactly, store after store, each aligned to its own opening date.

The result

Across both brands, Signet dealt with one partner instead of coordinating separate local decorators and cleaning contractors store by store. H Samuel got a consistent decorating finish from Stoke to Cornwall; Ernest Jones got a presentable, opening-ready store handed back to Barnwood on schedule, 48 times over. It is the same principle either way: the right people on site, and a finish good enough to sell against, repeated reliably across a nationwide estate.
