The brief

DefendX completed a full compartmentation survey and passive fire-stopping remediation on a 22-storey tower under Building Safety Act Accountable Person obligations.

01

The challenge

A registered housing provider operating a 22-storey residential tower in Birmingham required a full compartmentation survey and remediation programme as part of its Building Safety Act Accountable Person obligations, to be completed while the building remained occupied.

02

Our approach

DefendX deployed a four-person survey team to complete a floor-by-floor compartmentation assessment across all 22 floors. The survey identified 124 penetration deficiencies, and DefendX produced a phased remediation programme completed floor-by-floor with minimum disruption to residents.

03

The result

All 124 penetrations were remediated to specification, with a full compartmentation record handed to the Accountable Person for the building's Safety Case. The tower remained occupied throughout, with no more than one floor affected by works at any time.
