The brief

AOG ran a national framework for Coventry Building Society covering more than twenty units, supporting shop-fitting, handovers, and delivery across the estate. That regional programme led to a circa two-month engagement at the headquarters of the mutual, which serves around two million members, cleaning the building inside and out at the close of works.

01

The challenge

A national estate is only as good as its least presentable unit. For Coventry Building Society, AOG ran a framework across more than twenty units, supporting shop-fitting, handovers, and delivery so each site reached a consistent standard as works completed. That regional programme built the trust that led to the culmination of the relationship: a circa two-month engagement at the headquarters itself, where the mutual, which serves around two million members, presents itself to members, partners, and regulators.

Across the framework, the task was consistency at scale. More than twenty units had to reach the same standard on their own handover dates, with cleaning coordinated around shop-fitting and delivery rather than left to the very end. At the headquarters the scope then ran from the ground to the roofline and out to the perimeter. Internally there were offices, circulation areas, glazing, and washrooms to bring to a presentable standard. Externally the work covered the building facade and glazing, roof areas, and the car park, each with its own access and safety considerations. A head office of this scale carries a reputation, so the finish had to be genuinely uniform, with no visible line between the areas cleaned to a high standard and the areas that had been rushed.

02

Our approach

Across the framework we worked as a single accountable partner, coordinating with shop-fitting and delivery teams so each unit was cleaned once its works were genuinely complete and handed over to the same standard. At the headquarters we planned the engagement as a single sequence covering the whole envelope rather than a series of disconnected tasks. Internally we ran a detailed sparkle clean of glazing, partitions, joinery, and washrooms. Externally we cleaned the facade and glazing, cleared and cleaned the roof areas using the right access and fall-protection measures, and cleaned down the car park so the approach to the building matched the building itself. A supervisor held the standard consistent across every zone and every operative.

  • A national framework across more than twenty units, supporting shop-fitting, handovers, and delivery.
  • One accountable partner holding a consistent standard as each unit reached handover.
  • A circa two-month HQ engagement: internal sparkle clean plus external facade, glazing, roof, and car park.
  • External works delivered with correct access and fall protection, under one supervised programme.

The result

Across the framework, more than twenty units were supported and handed over to a consistent standard, and the relationship culminated in the headquarters engagement, cleaned to a standard fit for the head office of a mutual serving around two million members, inside and out. Covering internal spaces, external glazing, roof, and car park under one programme meant the client dealt with a single team and a single standard rather than stitching together several contractors. The building presented as a finished, first-class working environment for the staff who occupy it and the members and partners who visit it. For a national estate, that consistency from the smallest unit to the boardroom is the whole point.
