Three SIA-licenced officers, integrated CCTV and weekly principal-contractor reporting. Zero theft incidents over the build cycle.
Three SIA-licenced officers, integrated CCTV and weekly principal-contractor reporting. Zero theft incidents over the build cycle.
The challenge
The principal contractor on an 18-metre residential development in the West Midlands required security provision for the full 12-month build cycle. The site covered 1.4 acres in an urban location with a history of trespass and tool theft on nearby sites. The client's insurance requirement specified SIA-licenced guarding, a monitored CCTV system, and a documented incident response procedure.
Our approach
AOG Security deployed three SIA Door Supervisor-licenced officers on a rolling 24/7 rota covering three 8-hour shifts. The access control regime included a vehicle movement log, a daily visitor register, and an electronic key cabinet managed through the AOG Ops field app.
CCTV coverage was provided by four fixed cameras and a relocatable mobile CCTV unit covering the site's highest-risk elevation. Weekly security briefings were included as a standing agenda item in the principal contractor's programme meetings.
The result
Zero theft incidents were recorded across the full build cycle, against a site value of £18.4m. The principal contractor renewed the arrangement for two subsequent phases on the same development, citing the weekly reporting discipline as a key factor in their insurer's continued cover.
