Frequently asked questions
Where are our keys stored?
Keys are held in a graded key cabinet, segregated by site, with access recorded against a written log. This meets the key-custody standard insurers typically expect and means only a named key holder can retrieve your keys.
What happens when an alarm activates?
A named key holder is dispatched to attend within the agreed SLA. On arrival, the officer carries out an attended search and internal walkthrough, resets the alarm where safe to do so, and produces a written occurrence report. Every activation is logged into the weekly account review.
How quickly can a responder attend?
Attendance targets are agreed in the contract and depend on geography and the SLA you choose. We will not quote a universal response time that is not backed by the specific site and contract, but committed targets are measured and reported against on every attendance.
What happens if the responder finds signs of a break-in?
The officer does not enter further than is safe, secures the scene, and liaises with the police and your nominated contact. Insurer and police liaison is handled by AOG so you do not need to coordinate this yourself during an incident, and a full written report follows.
What report will we receive after an alarm call-out?
A written, time-stamped occurrence report covering attendance and clear times, what was found, and any actions taken. Every attendance also rolls up into the weekly account review, so activation patterns are visible over time, not just as one-off incidents.
Can keyholding be combined with mobile patrols or CCTV monitoring?
Yes. Keyholding is commonly paired with mobile patrol or remote CCTV monitoring so cover is continuous rather than reactive only to alarm activations. All three run through the same AOG control room and the same weekly report.
